【中級英語文法012】疑問詞＋不定詞の使い方＆no matter／whatever の譲歩構文

疑問詞＋不定詞は、「何をすべきか」「どこへ行くべきか」のように疑問の意味を持つ名詞節を簡潔に表せる便利な構文です。また、no matter／whateverを使った譲歩構文は「〜であっても」「どんな〜でも」という意味を持ち、会話やビジネス英語でもよく使われます。

1. 疑問詞＋不定詞の基本

• what to do（何をすべきか）
• how to use（どう使うか）
• where to go（どこに行くか）

例文

1. I don’t know what to say.
   何を言えばいいのかわかりません。
2. Can you show me how to operate this machine?

2. 疑問詞＋不定詞の注意点

• 主語が誰なのかは文脈から判断（I don’t know who to ask. → 「誰に尋ねるべきか」）
• 時制は不定詞自体には反映されない（過去や未来は文脈で示す）

3. 譲歩構文 no matter／whatever の使い方

no matter + 疑問詞：どんな〜でも（No matter what happens, …）
whatever + 名詞／SV：〜することは何でも／どんな〜でも（Whatever you decide, …）
