【使い分け】between / among ＋ to / for を3分で整理
「〜の間に」「〜へ／〜のために」といった表現は使い分けを間違えやすいポイント。基本ルールと例文で確認しましょう。
1) between / among の使い分け
between＝2つ（または少数のはっきり区別できる対象）の間、
among＝3つ以上の漠然とした集団の中。

- between：between A and B（2者間）
- among：among friends, among the participants（3者以上の中で）
- between は「2つ」だけでなく「はっきり区別できる複数対象」にも使える（例：between the five companies）
例文（和訳つき）
The negotiations between Japan and the U.S. were successful.
日本とアメリカの間の交渉は成功しました。We shared the cake among the children.
そのケーキを子どもたちの間で分けました。There’s a strong bond between the members of the team.

2) to / for の使い分け
to＝方向・相手に向かう「〜へ／〜に」、
for＝利益・目的のため「〜のために」。
